The story behind this painting is a curious one, for the appearance of the work was not always as it is now. Before the Baudeau Manor was infiltrated by the evil that embodies it today, this was a quite beautiful painting. The plaque beneath the portrait reads, "Evangeline Beauchenne" and while the true identity of who this woman was is unknown, her name remains. Where beauty once was painted with careful, skillful strokes, the image has now been demented by raw evil, churning and morphing the woman’s face into a mere shade of its former glory.
This painting will remain innocent, inanimate, and indifferent if any female were to stumble upon the Lady’s Parlor to seek refuge for the room is a sort of... sanctuary for womankind. This meaning, that any woman or girl could pass in front of the dark eyes of Evangeline Beauchenne and see nothing but a creepy, odd portrait. However if any male, young or old, dare venture into the Parlor and remain for a period of time, the full force that inhabits the frame of the painting will meet them.
She will descend the painting stiff, awkward, like a colt gaining their feet, but she is anything but innocent. The dark figure that will appear does not have a true name, but her methods to kill you will ensure that a known name would be useless nevertheless. The figure will appear as it did in the portrait, a feminine figure with hazy, undefined edges and when she moves, she does not walk but she drifts towards the male who has come into her territory. She has not eyes, there are no eyes, and even if the unfortunate male flees beyond the walls of the Parlor, she will follow almost at a slow pace, yet seemingly never out of the escapee’s view. Eventually, the male will tire, give up, or try to face his terrifying pursuer and then….
There is no way to beat the portrait of Evangeline when she has stepped out of her painting and she will kill you, there is no escaping her. How she does the deed is by reaching for the neck of the man to snap it, break it, or tear the head off completely, but however way she does se will always leave a single, cold kiss upon the lips of the victim before returning to her picture frame, becoming the former portrait of one “Evangeline Beauchenne” until her next victim arrives.
This dark killer’s only weakness is when she’s in her picture frame and the entire painting must be destroyed for her reign of terror upon men to end, so simply chopping up the painting will not suffice for it will reform back to normal.
