Sitting on the roof might seem an odd thing for Sadiq to do, but it was the only thing he could think up to do. He needed to get away from people, try to get a perspective on everything that had been going on in the manor. Looking out at the property, he could see the courtyard, the graveyard and the garden. A feeling of sadness came over him as he wondered how many of his fellow Nations might be in the graveyard, how many of them had perished there. Brining his knees to his chest, he rested his arms on them then rested his head on his arms. It was getting hard to think about positive things, hard to remember why he kept trying to find a way out, why he needed to find the others. It would all be easier if he stayed to himself, if he stayed by himself his temper couldn’t get the best of him. He was afraid of hurting someone he cared about.
With a sigh, he picked up his head and rubbed his face gently. He still had a black eye from his run in with Netherlands and he had last his mask a while ago. It felt odd to not have his mask, like something was missing, a part of him was missing. There was an empty feeling in him that needed to be filled. He could feel it trying to grow, trying to consume him to where all he felt was hallow. He knew he was suffering from depression, but he couldn’t pull himself out of it. Looking out over the yard again, he sighed.
“I need a distraction, just a distraction to stop these thoughts, need to remember what matters.”

She was losing her grip. Kat was no longer calm, optimistic, and hopeful, she was frantic, panicking, and she couldn’t for the life of her stop the tears from falling. She didn’t know where she was, her crying blurred her vision, and it didn’t help that she had randomly awoken in some room. The last thing she remembered was being outside so how had she become to be inside the manor once more? She didn’t know how long it had been since she had seen her siblings, Belarus and Russia, and the worry she felt for them was burning a hole in her heart and over and over she muttered their names. She wore her traditional dance costume, the sane she danced in all the time at home, and while it had become soiled during her ventures outside when she had awoken, it was completely good as new. That had freaked her out and she had burst from the room and ran down the stairs.
Now, she was wondering aimlessly and turned into another room, not really paying attention to where she was going, she came upon a small stairwell. Ascending the stairs, the Ukrainian woman found herself in a rather dusty attic. She coughed and hiccupped, from the dust and from her sobbing and journeyed around, trying not to touch anything, but it was so dim that it was hard to make stuff out. Eventually, her hands collided with what felt like… a ladder? Looking up, she blinked, surprised when she saw that the hatch to the roof was already open. Confused and wiping her face upon her sleeve, she hesitantly climbed the rungs, one shaky hand after another, until he blonde, flower adorned head popped out to be kissed by the cool wind and she came to be standing on the….
“Roof?”
She punted in her confusion, a couple rogue tears falling down her rosy cheeks and she looked around the huge expanse of the roof and blinked, surprised when she saw what looked to be like a man, sitting, and dressed like…she didn’t even know. Why did he look so familiar? She began to take a few, hesitant forward until she called out, “Sadiq? That you?...!” A loud squeal that turned into a scream erupted from her mouth when her right boot suddenly cracked through some rotten boards and she collapsed to the side, directly towards the edge of the roof.
(I'll leave it there because.. xD I don't know how far to continue so I'll allow you to interpret)

Trying to empty his thoughts, he tried to focus. He needed to stop letting everything get to him, stop letting the manor get to him. He moved slightly, adjusted his sitting position as one of his legs has started to fall asleep. Straighting it out in front of him with the other still bent, he closed his eyes and breathed deeply. In and out, out and in. Breath out the non-important items and breath in calmness. Order his thoughts from the hoge-poge they had become. Did he have a purpose anymore in finding a way out? Was there a point in him trying to find a way out? He didn’t have any magic to protect himself from the monsters and the influence of the manor. He was lucky so far, he had only run into Nations that had problems with him, his black eye was proof of that.
Lifting his hands to rub at his eyes gently, he looked over the roof and traced each line that he could see, followed each one until they ended and a new one began close to it. If he tired, he could make his way back to where he had begun, a never ending maze of lines and broken dreams. The lines could also represent their lives here at the manor. Running fine if not a little bent and crooked, only to be cut off suddenly by this wretched place. He wished he had never accepted the invite to this party, stayed at home by himself like he had thought he should have. It felt like that even though he was a social nation, at the end of the day, he was always alone.
Scratching. He heard scratching from somewhere on the roof close to him and he didn’t care. If a monster found their way up there just to get him, he was going to let it. Why fight the inevitable. He had faced Death once and won, this would only be Death coming to collect his payment as one does not cheat that eternal equal maker and not pay sooner or later. He had often wondered how many people realized that he thought he was going to die all those years ago, but it didn’t matter. None of it mattered anymore.
“Sadiq? That you?...!”
He looked over as heard a female voice call his name and a feeling went through his chest. Was it nostalgia? Opening his mouth to say something to the well-remembered woman, his eyes widened in fear as the roof gave way under her and she started to fall.
“Katya!”
He scrambled to his feet as fast as he could; ignoring that one still felt half asleep and lunged for her. He wouldn’t accept her being injured, not like this. He reached for her, wanting to pull her to him where he could be sure this stupid roof wouldn’t hurt her; the fear on her face made him determined that he would keep her from falling.

Some people say that when your dancing with Death or in his presses, times slow so that your able to admit his presence before actually meeting him, and that’s what exactly what was happening to Katyusha. She was falling and everything to be slowed down. She could feel her booth break through the wood of the wood, most likely the area was rotted and maybe termites in order for her to break through so easily, and the angle that she falling in was towards the right. She turned slightly, form her flailing to try and right herself, so now her back was facing the ground far below her. It was a curious feeling, one that made your stomach bashed against your heart which only kick-started the adrenaline to spike your veins and send your heart into a flurry. Clumsy her… it was no surprise that she would meet her end by being so ungraceful as she was, though this did not apply to when she danced. Oh how she loved to dance…and to bake… and to garden. In her moment of falling, she did wonder the identity of the person she had seen, if it really had been Sadiq.
“Katya!”
Her eyes slowly followed to where her name was called and she managed to blink in surprise to see that it was in fact Turkey whom she had seen and that he was now bolting towards her. Ukraine and Turkey shared history, she had lived with him for a time and she did consider him a friend so… was it a curse or a blessing that it would be a friend of hers that would be the last thing she saw. She felt the lip of the roof at the back of her calf and hr off-balance combined with gravity was pushing her back over the edge. Tears streamed from er eyes but she no longer made a sound, no screams, and no terrified sounds. No sound escaped her lip until a small gasp broke her terrified silence when a strong grip clasped her around her outstretched wrist. She blinked at the scene and time resumed in its natural order. In reality the entire scenario had only last a few seconds but it has still been longer enough for Turkey to catch her just as she was breaching the breaking point of any possible balance on the roof before she actually did fall.
Casting her eyes from her wrist to slowly look up at Turkey, blinking again to rid her vision of any tears and it was true, he was there, dressed up as some sort of pirate or something. Her eyes were wide and she dared not move. Wetting her lips, she managed to step over her initial surprise and relief flooded hr face as did concern because even on the brink of death, Kat cared more about others than she did about herself.
“Sadiq, no! You… y-you fall too… the floor… no good... I-I...” the words were broken, slurred, and shook up from her tears and adrenaline. What if Turkey fell too? Fell trying to save her! Oh she couldn’t bare the thought and eve now with his addition weight, the roof beneath them groaned and her foot fell a half an inch more in, just enough for her to squeal and make her other, free foot slide. What on earth was Sadiq doing on the roof anyway and for the matter, why as she up there two? Oh, this was all her fault. If she hadn’t come up… if she… oh what had she gotten them into?

Sadiq allowed himself to release an internal sigh as he felt his fingers wrap around Katya’s wrist. While everything was going by so quickly for him to registuer and name the emotions he was feeling, he had felt fear, fear at the thought of not being able to get to her, fear of not being able to save her, fear of watching someone he cared about being injured and dying in front of him while there was nothing he could do about it. Especially this woman. While he probably wasn’t the best to her when she lived with him all those years ago, he did care about her. He hated to see her crying, to see her hurting. His entire focus was on her, was on the need to keep her from falling that he forgot his own problems and issues. He wasn’t thinking of how bad everything was or how hopeless it seemed to be to try to get out of this place, all he could think of was saving his friend from falling four stories or into the attic.
Without realizing it, his lips had curled up a small amount in relief that he had managed to keep her from going over the edge. He knew this situation was dangerous. The roof creaked and groaned under the addition of his weight, but so far it was holding, and would continue to hold. Letting his eyes travel down to look at her foot that was caught in the roof, he tightened his grip on her wrist enough that if she fell, he wouldn’t lose her. It wasn’t tight enough to bruise or hurt though, just enough to keep a hold of her. He had an idea of how to get her free, and one that would hopefully work if the roof did start falling in on them…of course they were long shots as it seemed everything that could go wrong, did go wrong here, but he had to try.
“Katya, can you try and pull yourself towards me some, try to regain your balance?” Hopefully she would be able to get her balance back, and then it should be easier to get her foot free. Worst case, he would pull her free, though the boot might be lost if he did that. Well, better a lost boot than a lost life. He was debating on if he should ignore her warnings or not, but he decided he needed to answer her, keep talking in order to try and keep her calm. He intentially droped his voice pitch so it was more comforting than his normal voice was, he hoped it helped to keep her calm and help her relax a little bit. It wasn’t a good idea to have stiff muscles when trying to move slowly or as carefully as she needed to for this. “It’s fine Katyusha, It’s my choice. I will not let you fall when I can do something about it. Don’t worry about me, strong as ox remember?” He grinned at his own joke, hoping it would get her to calm down and maybe she would laugh once they got away from the edge of the roof.

“I…I try….”
She glanced down from Sadiq’s eyes down to her feet. Slowly, she brought back her free boot so that her heel rested back against the lip of the roof and ever to slightly, she lifted her heel to push herself forward towards Turkey, righting her balance enough that the majority of her weight was directed over the edge. With that done, she dared to release the breath she had been holding and looked back at Turkey just as he uttered his small joke. Though small, it was enough for her to chuckle and it brought back her smile to match his; even at the very edge of it all, with tears in her eyes, Ukraine could smile. Of course it was easier to do so when you weren’t an inch from falling over said edge. Now the pair of them were standing more or less their arms’ length apart and the problem now was freeing Katyusha’s foot free from the roof.
“I remember,” she said, still smiling, still tears flowing down from her blue eyes that had left Turkey’s handsome form and were fixed on her foot’s situation. Her boot had gone through the roof to just above her ankle so, in theory, it shouldn’t be too difficult to free her foot. “I try… to pull my boot free now..” she told Turkey, just so he knew what she was doing as her smile twisted into a line of determination as she began to slowly pull back her foot. The smallest of effort made the wood around boot groan a bit, so she paused, swallowing loudly, before continuing. He managed to reveal her boot up to the heel, but it was then that she met resistance.
“It... It von’t come…” she managed to say, mindful of the Turk’s hand abound her waist in which she returned the grip by wrapping her own fingers around what she could of his arm, securing their hold on each other. She pulled a bit more forcefully at her foot but it was as if it were caught on a ledge or something. Her tongue poked out from her lips from her focus and she pulled a bit harder, ignoring the sound of cracking from the wood and she could feel sweat itch the back of her neck. Then, pop! Out came her boot, leaving Ukraine blinking in confusion and staring at her now freed red boot.
“Vell... that vasn’ very hard…” she began but stopped when the small hole that once held her boot began to widen as rotted bits of wood fell away and the circumference was increasing at an alarming rate. Kat’s eyes widened, her one foot still held elevated into the air and before she knew herself what she was doing, her other foot pushed ff of the side of the roof and Ukraine, literally, tackled Turkey as she threw herself at him; it was that or casually fall into the increasing mouth of the hole and her actions drew them both further away from the area of danger.

Sadiq watched her move carefully, watched every move. He wanted to be sure that if the roof gave, he could pull her away. He really didn’t want her to hurt…this feeling, where did it come from, it seemed familiar somehow. He watched her move carefully, glad that he was there for her during this, he hated to think of what could have happened if he wasn’t here to catch her. Hearing her small laugh, he grinned and felt his eyes crinkle at the corners. It made him happy to know that he could still make her smile and laugh, though he wished he could make her stop crying. He wanted to reach up and wipe away the tears that ran down her cheek, to erase the tear marks that would show on her face. He wanted to put that shine back in her eye that he usually saw there.
….what was he thinking? This was no time for thoughts like that, not in this situation. With a quick shake of his head, he turned his attention back on her actions and would figure out his feelings later when he wasn’t in a life or death situation.
“I try… to pull my boot free now..”
Sadiq nodded when she said she was going to pull her foot free only to see her frown when the wood wouldn’t release her foot. “Keep trying Katya, I know you can get it out, wood can’t beat you.” He knew she could get free given enough time and …why did she have to stick her tongue out like that to focus, that just made her look even more beautiful to him….he needed to stop thinking this right now, it was not productive to the situation.
“Vell... that vasn’ very hard…”
Grinning again when she announced that her boot was free, he was about to say something when he heard cracking. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw the roof start falling around the hole. His face fell. He knew he couldn’t get them both out of there in time to save them both, but maybe…
His thoughts were interrupted when he felt something hit his chest and he clutched whatever it was to his chest to protect it from the roof as they rolled out of the way of the falling wood and shingles. He opened his eyes to see it was Katya that had ended up saving them both. He lifted his hand and ran his fingers through her hair and grinned. They had stopped with her lying on top of him and he couldn’t help himself.
“If you wanted me on my back, you should have just said something?”

Rough fingers caressed through her hair and she couldn’t help but shiver with memory and familiarity. Her face was pressed into a hard but warm chest and her one arm lay pressed against it as well, her hand clenching at Sadiq’s shirt while her other remained at his hand. She waited until the noise of the collapsing roof ceased and looked up to meet Turkey’s eyes just as he uttered his jest. At first she just blinked, caught somewhat unawares by the words, until she began to giggle and then full out laugh, her body trembling from the closeness to death she’d just experienced and how good it felt to release her anxiety through laughter. Tears continued to spill down from her eyes, though these were more of relief and of joy than of fear and panic.
She didn’t respond at first, silenced by her laughing, which ensued a serious of excited, tear-wet kisses down the side of Sadiq’s face and partially on his lips before she pressed herself against his chest again to hug him tightly. “Oh Sadiq! I so glad it you!” she said into the folds of his shirt. Ukraine was a truly loveable, motherly person who was all about affection and caring and to see Sadiq, it filled her with warmth that was natural and she felt happy for the first time since she had entered the manor. Out of any person she could have met up there on the roof, it so happened to be a friend of hers, a friend whose sense of humor that always could make her laugh, even if she didn’t always understand the meanings of his jokes. She smiled, seemingly having forgotten that they lay somewhat near a gaping hole that fell a good ten feet down into the Attic, and when satisfied with the length of her hug she raised her head to beam down at her Turkish friend. He didn’t look too worse for wear, perhaps a bit tired and he looked like a good meal would be the best thing for him, but at least he wasn’t looking so worried at her anymore, an improvement.
“Vhat you doing up here?” She inquired, though the question could be directed back at her, not that she had a good answer. She somewhat didn’t recall as to exactly why she had come up to the roof but seeing Sadiq, it must’ve been destiny pulling her along. A breeze rolled over the top of the roof, stirring her hair and shuffling her headpiece’s ribbons and flowers, while the chill of it cut through the thinness of her shirt and made her shiver. Her blue eyes searched over Sadiq’s face and hair, looking for any sort of visible scrape or something, her maternal mode always switched on of coarse, before she added, “I no hurt you, right?” The prospect that her tackling may have hurt him made her smile falter a bit though it remained upon her ripe, cherry blossom coloured lips. Her tears had finally relented a bit, choosing to sit in the corners of her eyes to make them bright and shiny, as if to emphasize her delight in seeing Sadiq. Did she mind that she was lying on his chest? If there were a possible problem with the fact, it hadn’t crossed her mind yet and it probably wouldn’t unless he actually said something.
Now that she wasn’t alone, Kat felt a physical weight lift from her shoulders and a strength that had been extinguished from loneliness and fear reignite. True she was probably the biggest crybaby out of the female nations, but she also happened to be the tallest and one of the oldest, being the only nation to calm down an infuriated Russia and dare near him. Her brother didn’t scare her, though she was scared for him…. he was so innocent and kind after all but so misunderstood. Smiling down at Turkey made Ukraine feel…. A lot of things, so much more than relief, joy and warm, but then again the handsome man had always had such an effect on her. He was a good man and a good friend and she admitted that if she had had to chose a person, minus her siblings, to meet up there on the roof, she would have chosen him.

Having her against his chest like this felt….natural. He was calm and for the first time, thought he heard the crickets that should have been present in a normal manor. Hearing her laugh brought a warm feeling to him, seeming to fill and overtake the coldness that had taken root in his bones. Sadiq knew that this laugh was a release for her, helping to relieve all the stress and tension and fear that had built up in her. He moved his arm to wrap gently around her back and held her as she laughed; just enjoying the sound as if filled the air. He could still feel that she was crying as her tears soaked through his shirt and dampened his skin, but he didn’t mind these tears. These were useful and knew that once she had managed to contain her laughter, she should be feeling better, would smile that smile that he knew could pull out his own smile, his own good mood.
He felt her move and was going to say something to her, but the words were caught in his throat and he could only blink as quick rapid fire kisses were placed on his jaw and one landed on the corner of his own lips. Swallowing loudly as his chest was used as a pillow again, he grinned, happy to see that despite all that happened between the two and all the time they spent separated, they were still really close. He always had a soft spot for the Ukrainian personification, and neither time nor the change in location could change that. Moving his free hand again, he carded his fingers through her hair again.
“Now that’s the kind of greeting I like. Though I do admit it leave me at a bit off a loss for words besides the fact that I’m really glad to see you too Katya. It’s been too long.”
Sadiq knew that his smile and eyes softened as she lifted her head and their eyes met. He could care less that they were on a roof that had nearly damaged them both, that still could break more. He had actually forgotten about that; forget they were up on a roof at all.
He lowered his hand again and wrapped it around her waist again to return the hug and because it was the most logical place to put it really. He really didn’t want to let her go just yet, it had been a long time since he had been able to enjoy the comfort of physical contact, and it only meant more that it was someone he knew he could trust, that it was this woman who had proved over and over that he could trust in her and he hoped she knew that she could trust in him.
“What am I doing up here? Was thinking mostly, just letting my mind wander over everything and anything. How about you?“ Sadik watched her hair move gently with the slight wind and the ribbons and flowers move too and couldn’t help but smile more. She really did look beautiful, even though he could still tell there were tears in the corners of her eyes, just waiting to fall. Moving his arm again, he cupped her cheek and ran his thumb along one of the tear trails, attempting to erase its traces. “Don’t worry about it, you didn’t hurt me at all. Are you hurt? How’s your ankle? I tried to protect you during the roll. I saw you shiver , do you want to head back inside and try to warm up a bit? We could find you a blanket or something?”
….With a mental facepalm, Sadiq realized that was too many questions to ask at once. He was rambling and needed to stop. . She had probably been through as much here as he had, but she still looked beautiful. Though she would probably look beautiful to him no matter the situation. He was glad it was her he ran into. She seemed to always be able to ground him, to make him realize what was important in life. Friends, family, all of it. He knew he could always count on her and wanted to be there for her no matter what happened. He would do anything for her. Giving himself a mental shake, he realized he was mentally rambling and needed to quite.
“I missed you.”

“What am I doing up here? Was thinking mostly, just letting my mind wander over everything and anything. How about you?“
Seeing his smile caused Ukraine’s eye to soften and half-close, making the on-edge tears spill down her cheeks and seep into the spaces of Sadiq’s hand upon her cheek. She was so glad that he wasn’t considering her a nuisance or anything that he seemed to actually be very glad to see her so her hand gently came up to cover his. His hand was so much bigger than hers, covering a much greater area of the side of her face than hers alone ever could, but the feel of his hand was one that was very familiar.
“I come here to…. Vell, I really don’t know…. I vas… so scared, Sadiq, so alone. I no knew vhere I vas going and I ended here vith you so, it all good!” Her words at first started to tremble together and slur with the threat of a fresh onslaught of tears but she managed to twist her words towards the positive and she smiled even bigger down at him. Another flutter of giggles swept past her lips as the man beneath her began to ramble off with question after question, some of which Kat forgot before she could even formulate an answer. She had always thought him to be so handsome as well as charmingly cute in a boyish sort of way, though he wasn’t always so jovial. Sometimes, and Ukraine knew that all too well, Turkey could be downright scary when he was mad, as could any nation really.
Patting his hand softly before removing hers to ease herself from laying on his chest to more or less, sitting on his lap and looking down at him, she crossed her arms and said, “I glad you no hurt but, I think, it best to talk more vhere it varm and avay from this place… it no safe”. Katyusha knew that going back into the Manor was not exactly safer than out there on the roof, but at east it would be warmer and she knew that a multitude of rooms had beds and blankets and fireplaces, all good chances for them both to warm up instead of catching a chill.
"I missed you".
Her heart skipped a beat before returning with double force, sending a slight pain into her chest, though it was the good kind of pain. She blinked a few times in succession before a warm blush bloomed across her cheeks and she bit her lower lip slightly. Why did he have to be so charming? In her position, sitting with her knees on either side of his thighs and looking down at him. it was somewhat hard to hide her bashfulness.
"I miss you too, Sadiq. Very much".
With a single nod of her head followed by a soft smile, she slid off of him finally to half sit beside him, before unsteadily standing and walking slowly back toward the door to the attic. A few steps away, Kat knelt down to pick up the discarded heavy candlestick she had dropped when she had initially arrived to the roof. It wasn’t the best weapon she knew but with the large blemish of some sort of dried substance tarnishing the tip of the candlestick, the blunt object had already proven itself worthy of at least stunning a creature so Kat could run for her life.
She wasn’t about to tell Sadiq about that instance. Ukraine came up to the door and looked back to smile at Turkey and waited for him. She was cold, the overcast of shock from her holding onto fear for so long, and she didn’t want to speak it out loud but the other reason she wished to return back into the bowels of the Manor was from the prospect of running into either her brother her sister, both of who, she missed terribly and was worried sick about. Yet, at the same time, there was a part of her that desired just to remain with Sadiq and if they did continue their searches for them to do it together. She had been lucky enough to find him after all and it made her cold to think about being separated or something from him.
“Hurry up, slowpokey!” She had heard that saying a few times from Alfred… it seemed appropriate.

He watched as her eyes became lidded and followed the path each tear new tear fell down her cheek, each seeming to hold something within them. He could feel there warmth spread across his hand as they came to rest against it. These warm tears of happiness. He was glad to see her happy. His smiled softened more as her soft and cover his he could only think back to similar times when he had cupped her face and she had covered his hand. He had always tried to been kind to her, did many things for her. Sadiq could only be glad that she forgave him for when he lost his temper and became angry, yelling at her for perhaps no reason at all. He had never hit her, would never have hit her even if he needed to hit something. His own culture then would never have allowed him to hit her, and he never did want to. He never wanted to be the cause of her sad tears.
“I was feeling alone too honestly. Now that you’re here, neither one of us needs to be alone and you don’t need to be scared. We can get through anything.” Sadiq really was glad she was there with him, glad she was able to smile and pull herself together. He liked to hear her laugh, it was such a cute laugh. His thoughts halted for a minute as if they had been poked and he realized what he was thinking. After all this time apart, his feelings toward the Ukrainian woman were still the same. He had liked her a great deal before, cared very deeply about her, more than he should have. He knew that she didn’t see him in the same way he saw her, so he allowed himself to just remain as a good friend. He did enjoy the friendship, someone he could joke with and talk with and be able to be himself with. He was truly thankful that she allowed him as close as he was, even with the moments he knew he had to have frightened her, she always accepted his apologizes and allowed him close.
Feeling her hand pat his, Sadiq was drawn out of his thoughts again and watched her sit up, finding a nice seat on his lap. He could only grin at her and shrug, moving both of his arms to rest behind his head with it slightly cocked to the side. “That’s a rather good idea. I know I don’t like the cold, don’t remember if you do or not, but I don’t want you too cold either. And yes, even though the roof has stopped falling for now, there is no guarantee it won’t start again.”
The blush brought a beautiful red hug to her cheeks and just made her look more beautiful. Seeing her blush like that while in the position they were in brought back some old dreams he used to have. He had pictured her like this, willingly on top of him and blushing just as much…but the situation was vastly different. Instead of for pleasure, this was just happenstance and it didn’t mean anything. He shoved those thoughts out of his head where they belonged. That was then and this was now, nothing was the same. He didn’t even know how she felt, if it was beyond friendship or not. And for once, he was almost frightened to find out. He would focus on here and now and let the chips fall where they may.
"I miss you too, Sadiq. Very much.”
Hearing that she had miss him, Sadiq let himself smile and rest his head down as she slipped off of him. This was enough, just being by her side as a good friend. He looked over at her as she got up and headed to the door to the attic and he got up to follow. He would protect her, help her when he could. Adjusting his sword that thankfully hadn’t hurt her when they rolled.
“Hurry up, slowpokey!”
He had to laugh at hearing that, he had laughed so much in her presence currently and hoped that could continue. He wanted to stick with her, stay by her side. “I’m coming, give me a second to get there, my legs aren’t a quick as your lithe one are.” He had finally caught up to her and took one of her hands in his own. With a light squeeze, he nodded brought her hand up so he could kiss the back of it. “Lead the way , I’ll follow.”

The blush that already adorned her cheeks refilled, like the tides washing onto the shore, when he took her hand and gently kissed it. He had always been such a gentleman to her, so nice and decent, so it was almost instinct when she smile up and him and gave his hand a squeeze in return. Where he had kissed her, her skin tingled and a shiver crept up her spine, though the cold could explain this surely. Unfortunately though, she soon had to release his hand if she wanted to descend the ladder back down into the Attic but when she did, her hand felt cold without his warmth. Peeking down into the dark room through the hatch, Katyusha slightly knitted her brows together with angst but her thoughts were interrupted when Turkey spoke.
“Lead the way, I’ll follow.”
Blinking up at him, before giving him an unsure smile, she slipped her candlestick-weapon into the waist of her skirt and slowly lowered herself down onto the first rung. The wood was worn smooth beneath her hands as she left the cold exposure of the roof and reentered the body of the attic. It was considerably warmer as she reached the bottom and once her boot touched the floor, she freed her grip and stepped back to allow Sadiq room to dismount as well. The room was dark, due to her eyes not having enough time to adjust, but when the did the dim light from outside spilled into the attic from a few choice windows as well as its new skylight, courtesy of Ukraine herself. Retrieving her candlestick to grip firmly in her left hand, she heard Sadiq reach the floor as well and she immediately was back at his side, her hand slipping back into his, and there remained minimal distance between them.
Before them some ways, stood the door to the stairwell that would take them back to the Third Floor and out of the dusty, cobwebbed, environment that they had found themselves in and the urge to tidy and clean spiked up within Kat: a sister’s instinct. The groans of the Manor echoed within the space of the loft though it relentlessly from the hole in the rafters, so much so that a breeze still managed to stir up her bangs a bit. Biting her bottom lip, she glanced around the room before looking up at Sadiq for a moment before finally saying, “Vell… on ve go, tak?" Her words ended with a smile, though she didn’t feel all too ready to go headlong into the unknown of their adventure through the house. Still, they made their way across the room, to the door that Turkey opened since his hand was free, plus it was only polite with Ukraine being a lady and all, and together, they descended the stairs, leaving the attic, and arriving back to the third floor.
