Full Name: The Man Who Sought Infinite Knowledge
Nickname: The Riddler
Age: 621 years
Length: Stretches out to 11 feet, but when upright, his hunched form is only 4 feet tall
Weight: 160 lbs
Gender: Male
Eye color: All three eyes are yellow
Skin: Skin is a pale grey tone, while his scales are a deep green.
The Riddler wasn't originally a hideous monster. He used to be a scholar back in his time, where he acted as a scribe that rewrote book after book with his lovely handwriting. That wasn't a filling life for this young man though. He could read, write, and spend all his days in a library, but he never could satisfy his thirst for knowledge. Books could merely put off his appetite temporarily, but nothing ever seemed to settle his desire.
Eventually this boy, barely a man, grew tired of his life. Leaving behind what he once called family and friends, the man ran off to find what he sought after all this time. He could not, for the life of him, discover what he wanted. No matter what book, what source, or what info he received, nothing worked. After reading one book on Black Magic, the man prepared a summoning to the dark world. Making a deal with the devil, the man agreed to give anything in order to quench his drive for the unknown. What he didn't realize was his payment would cost. He had money, wealth, and everything, but instead, his body was torn, substituted and ironically, replaced with strange reptile like component. The man lost most of his humanity to the devil, but he was left with pieces of his old form, along with a brain that remembered everything and three large eyes that saw all.
The world didn't think much of his hideous form though, but the former man didn't care all that much about measly opinions. Taking over a library of a town that had been abandoned, the creature lived contently within the walls. He had been happy in solitude for quite some time until humans came knocking on his doors once again. It appeared that his identity had been leaked to the peasants of nearby towns that desired to know things. Thus, the creature felt the need to answer them, but in hidden tongues. After all, they could not be given something for nothing. So the creature posed a riddle to the peasant, to which the peasant couldn't reply. For such insolence, the creature devoured the man completely, soon finding pleasure in crushing bones between his strong teeth.
After this day, the creature nicknamed himself the Riddler, as humans came from far and wide to try to trick the serpent man into giving them the answers that the always came for. The Riddler saw everything, for he possessed an eye that can the past, one that saw the present (his main iris in the centre of his face) and an eye that saw the future. Some humans that were clever could get priceless knowledge about their future from this creature, but it usually resulted in their downfall. After all, fate is set in stone and cannot be avoided.
The Riddler saw his own future and eventually travelled to the America's to the Manor, knowingly agreeing to take up residence within the haunted halls. Unlike other spirits, the Riddler seems unphased by the monstrous pull of the Manor. The Riddler does feel a strong desire for flesh that wasn't formerly present, but he is able to ignore it on levels much more advanced than other monsters. The Riddler is a tricky opponent to come across. It would be unwise to pick a battle with the Riddler. His skin, particularly his scales, is tougher than steel and cannot be pierced by a simple blade or gunshot. The Riddler has little need for meaningless bloodshed though. Instead, the Riddler enjoys fooling the nations, who are also immortal beings. Be warned, you can find the Riddler in one of the Libraries or Studies, but only when you need him. The Riddler knows everything and anything about the Manor and what can be done within its walls. The Riddler knows the rules of death, disease (like who is infected with the Brain Worm), and most importantly, the way out. You can challenge the Riddler, but be cautious. The Riddler does not give up knowledge without risk. You may ask the Riddler something, but if you are not able to answer his question correctly, you will inevitably be eaten alive, piece by piece.
Are you witty enough to challenge the Riddler and solve his puzzle? Or will you fall to his question and become his next meal?
