Religion has nothing to do with this damned creature. The Stag Priest gains its name from the garments it wears, a cassock stolen from the cold corpse of a priest who had tried to dispel the creature from further terrorizing the citizens of a small village. The year was 1723 in a small village in England and for a fortnight, some beast of hell stalked the outskirts of the village. At first it only killed livestock and a couple dogs, but once a child was found dead, the local priest, a man named Watson, was called upon to bless the village and bestow a blessing upon the creature so it may find peace.
That was not what happened. Instead, the priest went missing and his body was found a week later, stripped of his clothes and trampled and strangled. Since then, countless sightings of a robed figure with antlers and glowing white eyes walking across the moors or down deserted roads at night have appeared across the UK and Europe. However, from about 1850 to the present, the sightings ceased and The Stag Priest fell into local legend ad tales to keep young child from straying off.
What truly happened it obvious really. Somehow The Stag made its way to America and became trapped within the Baudeau Manor soon after it was taken over by evil. Since then, this creature of legend has remained under loyal control to the Manor and continues to kill as it feels fit. The ways in which this creature kills is heavily influenced on his physique.
The Stag Priest from the neck down resembles a man, though its robe mainly creates this illusion by concealing its true body. Its hands are human and skeletal, and its head is plainly that of a skull of a stag. From examinations of its victims, there is heavy evidence to suggest that the feet of the Priest is that of a stag and these hooves are very sharp. The Stag Priest prefers to first chase down its prey, for it does posses the speed of a deer, before strangling the victim to near death, and finally trampling it until it dies.
The motives behind this creatures murderous mystery or its true origins of how it came to be, are unknown, as is how to kill it. But... there are speculations behind as to exactly why the creature saw to stealing the cassock of the priest. What is known for sure however was before The Stag killed the priest, no one ever saw it, and it was only once it was clothed that it ventured close enough to be seen.
The ultimate question is, what could be hiding underneath the creature's robes? Perhaps.... its weakness?
